PHYSICIANS
MIKE BOWERS , DO

Dr. Mike Bowers grew up in Pittsburgh, PA and moved to Fairfax, VA where he attended James W. Robinson High School. He graduated from Virginia Tech in Agricultural/ Environmental Engineering in 1994 and received his medical degree from the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2001. Dr. Bowers completed his family practice residency at Dewitt Army Community Hospital in Fort Belvoir, VA in 2004 and served as an Army family practice physician at Fort Knox, KY and then deployed to Baghdad, Iraq as a physician with a combat unit. Dr. Bowers earned a Bronze Star Medal for meritorious service in a combat zone as well as a Combat Medical Badge while in Iraq. He has a chapter published in Wrestling in Just the Facts in Sports Medicine, New York, McGraw Hill. His areas of interest include sports medicine, osteopathic manipulation, office procedures, and general medicine. Dr. Bowers lives in Mclean, VA with his wife, Margot. His personal interests include golf, reading and traveling to new places. He's an avid Virginia Tech football fan! We welcome Dr. Bowers to Town Center!
AUGUSTINE A. DOLCICH, MD, FAAFP

Dr. Dolcich, a native Washingtonian, has been practicing in northern Virginia since August of 1994. He received his medical degree from Howard University, Washington, D.C. and completed his family medicine residency at the University of Maryland Hospital, Baltimore. His professional interests include infant, pediatric and adult general medicine, sports medicine, dermatology, diabetes and asthma. Dr. Dolcich is board certified by the American Board of Family Practice and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians. Dr. Dolcich has been named "best pediatrician" by Family Magazine. His personal interests include team sports and camping. He currently resides in Herndon , Virginia with his wife, Marissa, daughters, Lucy, and Veronica, and son Joseph.
TERRY GARVERT, MD

Terry Ann Garvert, MD is a native of Vienna, Virginia where she attended Bishop O’Connell High School. She earned her undergraduate degree from George Mason University and her medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia at Virginia Commonwealth University. Dr. Garvert will be completing her Family Medicine training at Fairfax Family Practice in June 2007 where she was chief resident. Her areas of interest are women’s health and pediatrics. Her personal interests include athletics and spending time with her family. Dr. Garvert lives in Vienna with her husband and two daughters. We welcome Dr Garvert to Town Center!
ANDREW J. HARDING, MD, FAAFP

Dr. Harding will be in South Riding Family Medicine on Wednesday mornings.
Dr. Harding has been board certified by the American Board of Family Practice since 1988 and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians. He received his medical degree from McGill University in Montreal ,Quebec, Canada , and completed his residency in family practice at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center. He is a member of the Medical Reserve Corps of Fairfax and is chairman of the Department of Family Practice at Reston Hospital Center. Dr. Harding has been named one of the "Best Doctors in America". His special interests include endocrine diseases, pediatrics, sports medicine and psychological aspects of physical diseases. Dr. Harding speaks English, French and Spanish. His personal interests include piano, soccer, gardening, camping and hiking. He is currently raising his fourth puppy for Canine Companions for Independence , an organization that provides assistance dogs for all disabilities except blindness. You might see Bardot around the office as part of her training! His first puppy, Geyser, is a full service dog helping someone with multiple sclerosis and second puppy, Telsa, was released and is now a member of the family. Dr. Harding resides in Bethesda with his wife, Lily, and his sons, Marco, Daniel and Jamie.
IRVING HWANG, MD

Dr. Hwang is only at South Riding.
Dr. Irving Hwang is a native of Fairfax, Virginia, has been in private practice in the area since 2002. He attended Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology and earned both his undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Virginia. Dr.Hwang completed his residency at the Medical College of Virginia. He is active in the hospital community and serves on the Infectious Disease committee at Columbia/HCA Reston Hospital and the Credentials committee at INOVA Fair Oaks Hospital. While he enjoys the full scope of family medicine, he has a special interest in pediatric care, evidence based medicine, and computers in medicine. He lives in Vienna with his wife Nancy. In his free time he enjoys traveling, biking, skiing and trying new recipes in the kitchen.
JOHN PHILLIPS, MD

Dr. Phillips is only at South Riding.
Dr. John Phillips joined Town Center Family Medicine in August 11, 2003. Dr. Phillips grew up in Manassas, Virginia and attended the Medical College of Virginia for medical school. He completed his Family Practice training at Fairfax Family Practice. His areas of interest include cardiology, sports medicine, office procedures, evidence based medicine, and medical writing. He currently lives in McLean, VA with his wife Jenny and enjoys long distance running and travel in his free time.
NATHAN TRAN, MD

Dr Tran joined Town Center in August, 2005. Dr. Tran grew up in Fairfax, Va and went to Medical College of Virginia in Richmond. He completed his Family Medicine Residency in Fairfax Family Practice where he was chief resident. Dr. Tran’s professional interests include preventive medicine, evidence based medicine, medical education and adult and pediatric medicine. He currently lives in Fairfax and enjoys digital photography, exercise and reading.

TONI NELSON, FNP
BOARD CERTIFIED FAMILY NURSE PRACTITIONER

Toni Nelson joined Town Center Family in February 2002 as a Family Nurse Practitioner. Ms. Nelson received her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Georgia State University in 1985 and her Master of Science in Nursing from Marymount University in 1996. Toni lives in Vienna with her two sons and their many pets, including a python! Toni has a great sense of humor and enjoys playing with her sons, reading and cooking.
REBECCA RINGWOOD, ANP
BOARD CERTIFIED ADULT NURSE PRACTITIONER
Becky is only at South Riding .
Rebecca Ringwood graduated from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in 1980. After fifteen years as a registered clinical nurse, Rebecca earned a masters degree in nursing as a nurse practitioner from the George Mason/George Washington University Nurse Practitioner Program. Experience as a nurse includes service as an active duty and Army reserve nurse corps officer, practice in pediatrics, home health, occupational health, emergency room and neurological/physical medicine. Certifications include: Adult Nurse Practitioner Specialty and Occupational Health Nursing Specialist. Memberships include: Northern Virginia Council of Nurse Practitioners and the 2290th U.S. Army Hospital located at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. She is fluent in American Sign Language.
